22 August 2011 - 13:53Whenever I draw, I spend a lot of time just sitting and staring at the paper. Is that normal? 'Cause seriously, I think I spend more time staring than I do actually drawing. And yeah, I'll get rare bursts of inspiration where I'll doodle something up in a matter of minutes, but they don't occur nearly as often as I'd like.
Right now I'm terribly sleepy but it's too late to nap, and no time for regrets. I knew I'd end up sacrificing shut-eye if I wanted to get any work done on my comic today. As it is, I'm only averaging about a page a month, because I don't have any time to read or draw or anything much. We've been running rampant this month, what with Hugo breaking down and kiddos starting school and whatnot. Money troubles, too, so we've pretty much been living paycheck-to-paycheck. Stress has been killer, especially for Mom and Dud. I, as always internalize everything, but I believe I'm getting by alright. I just hope I can finish this damn comic page before the month is up. Only three or four panels to go...
